Balance

Balance is the distribution of the visual weight of your objects, colors, textures, and space. As seen in this painting “Oedipus Cursing His Son Polynices” by Henry Fuseli (1786),  there are more figures on the right side of the painting. However, the artist has created more visual weight in the figure on the left. The overall composition forms a sort of triangle, creating a sense of balance and harmony.
